See What Prof Opoku-Agyemang Did To Affected Odwana Market Women [Photos]

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken time off her busy schedules to visit the Odwana Market in Accra which caught ablaze in the early morning of Wednesday, November 18 around 1pm, and to check out how the affected entrepreneurs and most especially the poor market women who lost their stock of goods are coping with the situation.

The vice presidential candidate of the NDC, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, paid a special visit to the affected entrepreneurs and everyone, especially mothers and people who lost their belongings and capital stock.

Among other things, she listened to their harrowing stories and being there herself to see at first-hand the full extent of damages caused by the ravaging fire, of which the cause is still unknown according to an eyewitnesses report on Citi Breakfast news this morning.

Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang went ahead to express her empathy and compassion and solidarity the heartbroken industrious women and entrepreneurs, and promised to liase with the government and other agencies to provide their full support to the victims.

In the picture below, a woman who lost all her stuff in the market was found weeping soberly. This is so sad. Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang who is also a mother and a woman, saw and understand her situation and held her like a child at her breast in comfort. Only God can perfectly comfort her though.

The fire was so ravaging, and the structure of the market was poorly planned making entry of firefighters very difficult. This was what caused the massive damage. However, according to an eyewitnesses, some of the goods were able to be evacuated from the market by the residents who were around before the incident got worse.
