It is sad when death lays it’s icy hands on the people we love. In this case, death didn’t take one but all her parents. The story of Serwaa Anim is one that is very disheartening yet full of hope for the future. In this article, we are going to tell the story of a young orphan girl who is working extremely hard to earn a living.
Serwaa Anim was born on the 21st of May, 2001. She stays at Chorkor in Accra. At age six, she lost her mother in a tragic accident. A year later, death laid its icy hands of his father, Agya Ntow. The seven(7) year girl had no one to cater for, hence she hit the street in search for a job to earn a living. As a young girl growing on the street, she had tougher times such as rainfall, street guys and a lot. She slept in the front kiosk to kiosk on a tattered mat. According to Serwaa Anim, her dream was to be a medical doctor. The furthest education she acquired was graduating from junior high. Serwaa Anim still works at construction sites and other ventures to earn a living for herself. With her dreams of Medical doctor shattered, she still believes that one day, she will become a prominent woman and impact lives in people.
