Kantanka Automobile is a car building agent and manufacturer based in Ghana, founded in 1994 by Kwadwo Safo Kantanka. In 2004, it became a Limited Liability Company. In 1998, the first Complete Built Unit (CBU) was built, using 75% of privately produced segments (excluding the motor square).
The primary made-in-Nigeria vehicle increased in 2009. It was supplied by IVM (Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Co.Ltd), an Anambra-based car company that got its start in the 1980s as a vehicle parts supplier.
Innocent Chukwuma Nwala founded IVM, a Nigerian vehicle and transportation organization. Its vehicle plant is located in the Nigerian state of Anambra. IVM lives up to its moniker as "The Pride Of African Roads."
Up to 70% of vehicle parts are manufactured in the country, with the rest coming from Germany, China, and Japan. In addition to Nigeria, IVM vehicles are used in Sierra Leone, Mali, and other West African countries.
