Sociedad registered a 0-0 draw on the road the last match day against Sevilla. They had won three of their past five overall fixtures and they are also on a winning streak of three league fixtures at home.
They have also been one of the best overall squads this season in the Spanish top flight, and are going after a European spot desperately.
On the other hand, Espanyol did win 1-0 at home the past game week, against Mallorca. But they were winless in ten of their former twelve overall games, and they are also on a six-fixture winless run on the road. Do also note that they had let in two or more goals in five of their past six road trips.
Considering these observations, expect a compelling win for Sociedad this Monday at their home. Expect goals in plenty against the weak defense of Espanyol.
Sociedad are desperately holding on to the sixth spot at the moment, which happens to be the last position in the table which offers a ticket to Europe next season. As of now, they have a lead of three points over the seventh-placed Villarreal, but it is not that big of a safety cushion.
