Getafe were held to a 1-1 draw the last match day by Bilbao. They were unbeaten in 14 of their past 18 overall fixtures and it needs special mention that they are unbeaten at home since October. In fact, barring three draws, they have a 100% winning record at this venue during the time.
On the other hand, Mallorca lost 1-0 on the road the past game week, against Espanyol. They are also on a six-game losing streak, and had let in a total of 13 goals in the process.
They also have a 100% losing record on the road in league fixtures, since the first week of December.
Mallorca are currently the absolute worst team in the Spanish top flight, and are on a long losing streak. They are also placed in the relegation zone, and are conceding goals in huge numbers.
With just nine match-days remaining, it goes without saying that the team is under massive pressure. And with their weakened defense, the chances of letting in goals would just skyrocket.
Meanwhile, Getafe too are struggling in the bottom tier of the table. But they have a cushion of three points over the relegation cut off, and will try to maintain it with their lives.
