It seems we haven't learnt our lessons after the Anas exposé. We haven't picked up any lessons that rocked the end of the Ghana Premier League last season. There are so many issues with our league that needs to be solved. We haven't seen the head and tail of those problems yet we are being rocked with more problems. We don't have a league sponsor. The players plying their trade in the league are not well enumerated and that is why they are always seeking greener pastures abroad. We were hit with a terrible match fixing scandal towards the end of last season but up till now we haven't heard anything about it.
Matchday 25 of the Ghana Premier League came to a successful end over the weekend. The season is gradually coming to an end. Asante are seemingly on their way to the title this season. After last weekends round of matches, it has emerged that some of the results were manipulated. Some of the scores that we saw were reportedly fixed. Some people even came to say that certain individuals sent the results to them even before the matches began. Some reportedly won millions of cedis as a result of the match fixing.
I was so sad listening to this issues on radio this morning. We are collapsing our football and we must be very careful. We are scaring away investors as a result of this things. We must put a stop to it. The Football Association must wake up and solve these alleged match fixing scandals before it totally destroy our game. We should wake up.
