Alaves will not make life easy for Sevilla

Despite their lowly league position, Alaves have been in relatively good touch on home soil where they have lost just twice in eight games, scoring in six of those matches.

They remain in the relegation zone and are four points safety, largely down to the fact that they struggle for clean sheets, managing just two of them against teams in the top half of La Liga.

Both teams have netted in five of their last seven at Estadio de Mendizorroza, while both teams have scored in 11 of their last 16 at all venues in the league.

Sevilla hoping to rediscover their away form

Sevilla’s performances on the road have fallen off a cliff of late; failing to win any of their last five and keeping just one clean sheet during that period.

Julen Lopetegui’s side have drawn their last three La Liga away matches though, and have still suffered just two defeats, one of which came at the hands of Real Madrid.

Both teams have scored in five of their 12 league games on their travels, as well as six of their last nine at all venues, showing they are consistently strong in front of goal but have a few issues at the other end.

I expect both teams to score in this game, so that is my initial prediction, but Sevilla tend not to lose these kind of matches, so I predict they will win 2-1.
