The Ghanaian investigative journalist, Kevin Ekow Taylor, has said that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh, has proven over the years that he cannot lead the Ghana Police Service because he lacks what it takes to solve problems.
Kevin Taylor made this statement on his 'With All Due respect' program on Loud Silence television when he lamented how the Ghana Police Service has deteriorated under James Oppong-Boanuh.
According to him, James Oppong-Boanuh is just a politician doing the bidding of President Akufo Addo. He is the reason behind all the happenings at the Ghana Police Service, that's why his contract was extended by the president, despite reaching his retirement age.
"James Oppong-Boanuh has proven over the years that he cannot lead the Ghana Police Service. He cannot lead the Ghana Police Service because he lacks what it takes as a leader to make sure that when problems come, they are solved.
The majority of the problems he came to meet, he has not been able to solve them, and he doesn't have any idea on how to manage the new challenges that are emerging." He said
He added that, in any serious country, James Oppong-Boanuh should have been sacked immediately after the 2020 general election. He doesn't know what the President has seen in Oppong Boanuh for him, to still be in office as the IGP after everything that has happened under his leadership.
