It's very disheartening to hear parents working in organizations cry over unpaid salaries. The country we currently find ourselves in is getting tougher and tougher every day. Securing a job in Ghana has been very difficult of late than ever.
Hard-working employees of Zoomlion Ghana Limited have come out with a claim that has up to date baffled many Ghanaian people. The workers claim that the corporation has not paid their salaries for nine months straight.
The Zoomlion employees in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region have currently threatened to quit coming to work. According to the workers, Zoomlion Ghana Limited has not paid them since October 2021. They claim they have been ignored by the management of the corporation and that hunger is gradually killing them. Almost all of the workers of Zoomlion are parents with big responsibilities to take care of. They are also faced with the high cost of living in recent times.
We all know the huge efforts Zoomlion workers put in to keep the country clean and tidy. The district supervisor for Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr. Akwasi Ntow, granted the media an interview to speak about the sad treatment given to the workers. Mr. Ntow stressed that Zoomlion workers are fighting very hard to make ends meet and sometimes find it challenging to buy basic medications when necessary.
Considering how tedious and risky the cleaning job is, the Zoomlion workers disclosed that they are being paid a total of GH¢180 per month. With the recent economic hardship, it is almost impossible to survive with such an amount as a parent.
Most of the workers of the corporation disclosed that affording a three-square meal has been a very big problem for them. Looking at the nature of the job of Zoomlion workers, they should be paid more in other to afford a regular health checkups to make sure the body is healthy all the time.
