CAGD Validation Window For January 2022 Now Opened - When Salaries Will Be Paid And All Details

The Controller and Accountant General Department (CAGD) has initially informed all public sector workers who are paid through their system that salaries will be paid on the 21st of January, 2022. This was confirmed in a document containing the dates for paying salaries in 2022.

It was also revealed in a press release endorsed by the AG. Controller and Accountant-General, Kwaning-Bosmpem.

Why The Delay?

The validation window for January 2022 has been opened today, Saturday 22nd January 2022. Since the validation is just in it means that the original scheduled date for payment of salaries will be delayed.

When Are Salaries Expected To Hit Workers Banks Accounts?

Since the controller has open the validation window today, then the systemic approach (the normal system for payment) will be used for payment. This means that the 22nd validation will end around the 24th or 25th. The Controller will test and run it for two days, which will be around the 27th.

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) will take two working days to credit the banks on January 30th, which will be on Saturday. Due to this circumstance, banks may credit accounts on weekends. Individuals without ATM cards or mobile banking can only access their salaries on Monday, January 31st or beyond. This depends on the date validation comes.

Meanwhile, it is key to note that the CAGD is supposed to pay arrears of public sector workers who were affected by the non-payment of two months’ arrears of 4%, the December 2021 salary underpayment, and most importantly, 7% salary increment for 2022.

What would have happen if CAGD does not open the January 2022 Validation Window? The Experts Views

If there won’t be validation for January 2022, the Controller and Accountant General Department (CAGD) may use a syndromic approach.

What this means is that, after CAGD’s normal calculations, they will just direct the Bank of Ghana to credit banks from January 24 to January 25, 2022. After two working days, the Bank of Ghana will also credit the banks. It will take about one day for the banks to credit the workers.

When this happens, it means that workers are likely to receive payment (pay Day) on January 26th, 2022.

If the CAGD uses the above formulae, salaries can be paid on the above date using their own calendar.

Conclusion

Government Workers are to expect their salaries from January 30th or 31st and beyond.
