GABBSO President Calls For Government Support To Help Train Youth To Acquire Vocational Skills.

The National President of the Ghana Association of Barbers And Barbering Saloon Owners (GABBSO) Mr. Ibrahim Musah has disclosed that as part of measures to involve his Association to train more youth to acquire vocational skills to guarantee their future carrier, he is passionately calling for government assistance to realize the agenda.

Mr Musah made the call in an interview with the correspondent on Tuesday March 28, 2022 at the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi.

The occasion was aimed at electing a ten member executives to run the affairs of the regional Association for a period of four years.

The President expressed worry that today many youth are seen in the cities roaming about without work.

These youth he reiterated, link their job challenges to the none existing employment avenues in the country which according to him, he disagreed to the notion.

Mr Musah indicated that vocational skills have a brighter future and that there is the need for the youth to develop interest in them instead of relying on the government to provide them with the none existing white colour jobs in the cities.

He said it was against this background that the Association is ready to recruit more youth to gain practical experience in the barbering sector as measures of creating jobs for them.

Mr Musah related that barbering is a profitable profession, stressing that since the establishment of the Association in August 12 1995 members have made great impacts in their lives.

Adding that the outfit continue to grow from strength to strength in the society.

The National Deputy Organizer of the Association Mr Francis Kobia on his part expressed his gratitude about the successful elections.

He said the Association has drawn a comprehensive program that could help improve the skills of members in this year (2022).

Aside that the Association has also entered into foreign partnership agreements with some Barbering outfits in the United Kingdom on exchange programs concept.

The Deputy National Organizet on this note entreated members to remain resolute and back the National Executive members in their quest to transform the Association.
