See the answers he got from Ghanaians after posting the question on his twitter handle.
Ghanaian actor and a farmer, John Dumelo could not understand the reason why some job seekers in the country always want to work at the big institutions in the country. According to him a lot of these people only want to work in big companies such as Bank of Ghana, Ghana Gas, COCOBOD and the like.
As he seek to know the reasons and the keen interest of these people who want to see themselves working in the top companies and institutions in the country, he took that big question which has been bogging his mind to his twitter handle and the kind of answers he got, will definitely blow your mind away.
“ When you ask people where they want to work, all they say is: Bank of Ghana, Tullow oil, Ghana Gas, KPMG, COCOBOD. Pls why?“ he questioned.
These are sample of answers and reactions to his question from Ghanaians.
A twitter user identified as Citizen Yao replied the tweet by saying, “ They pay better than others. All the above pays a newly graduate not less than $1000 per month whether you are a contract staff or not. When you are a permanent staff, you enjoy more additional benefits. Our eyes opened”
Another person by the name Nov-Dec-Gh said, “ Those are the things our teachers in primary thought us. Those are the things they wanted to hear from us whenever they asked us such a question. If you say “Farmer” they chuckle for a while and pretend they love the fact that you want to be different.. they are lying”
Oskwart also replied the tweet saying, “ It’s their fault bro. They know the system of the country doesn’t favour great jobs like being a farmer so they wanted us to mention jobs where money was boom”
Another twitter user who is also identified as Mr. Romantic says that, “ Because the system is not working and that’s the only places they have seen people making strides in Ghana. You work there two years p3 then you start building!!”
