Yesterday was a great day in the lives of some dressmakers and seamstresses who successfully graduated in the Jomoro District. Aside the happiness they gained from becoming professional dressmakers and bosses of their own, they were given some money and sewing machines.
The guest speaker and chairperson of the occasion was the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency, Honourable Dorcas Affo-Toffey. The popular politician was indeed happy and glad to be called to chair the occasion and help these new dressmakers.
Honourable Dorcas Affo-Toffey kindly gave away sewing machines and money to these dressmakers who have successfully completed their training or apprenticeship. She gifted a sewing machines to all the graduates.
During his speech at the occasion, the MP spoke in Nzema but it will be explained in English.
According to the Honourable Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the skill they have gotten is precious and they have to work it. She also told them that, when you travel abroad and even within this country, it is very difficult for people with degree certificates to get jobs to do, but for them, they have learnt a skill, so they should come out and work with it.
