The Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr. Dan Botwe, has released the list of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) nominees by President Akufo-Addo. Out of the 260 appointments, only 38 are women.
But out of the 260 nominated MMDCEs in Ghana, only 38 are women.
The Greater Accra region topped the list of regions with the highest number of women MMDCEs. It had eight (8) women MMDCEs. It was followed by the Eastern and Ashanti regions with five (5) and four (4) respectively.
Western North and Ahafo regions did not have any women on their list.
It is our prayer that the noble appointed MMDCEs will fully commit themselves to their respective areas to ensure the development of the country as a whole. Ghana is for all of us and so, therefore, we must develop it.
