In a press release, the ministry informed the public about a certain news disseminating in the media which is false. The content of the news seeks to project the information that, President Nana Akuffo Addo through the Finance Ministry, placed a temporary ban on recruitment in the state security sector.

In addition, they realized the signature of the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was on the fake news. They want the public to reject such publication, because the ministry never issued such directive.

Again, the ministry said they are focused in implementing its mandate and achieving the policies in the 2021 budget. The Ghana CARES program was cited in the letter to grossly targeted, in achieving economic recovery. It will also speedily promote the structural economic transformation of the country.

The ministry has smelled foul play in the issue. They suspected some people to be behind such fake news, because of their selfish and parochial interest. Ghanaians are therefore cautioned not to imbibe such information, and treat it with all contempt it deserves.
