"We are daring him on his claim" - Senior Staff of Universities' to CEO of FWSC

The National Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Unoversities' of Ghana, Mr Isaac Donkor has challenged the CEO of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to block their salaries for resorting to strike action stating that they "dare him on his claims'

According to Mr Isaac Donkor, they had foreknowledge that the COE of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has given a warning that if they declare a strike action, he will make sure their salaries are not paid.

They argued that his position is intimidating to them and don't expect such a command from a public officer like him. They added that as a result of the statement, they are now more enthused and therefore has lawn down their tools.

Mr Isaac Donkor during the declaration of strike by the Senior Staff Association said "The CEO of FWSC Ing Ben Arthur has threatened to withhold all salaries of senior staff if we embark on strike. We believe that his posture was intimidating and also an affront to the position he occupies as a public officer who preaches equity but practices none. We are daring him on his claim."

The group further lamented that government hasn't treated the Senior Staff of Universities' rightly. The Chairman said, "His action has even triggered our resolve for the strike action. We still maintain our position that the government has been unfair to the senior staff in public universities in Ghana."
