The National Vice Chairman of the Ghana Barber's And Barbering Saloon Owners Association (GBBSOA), Mr. Kobia Francis has revealed that the Association has put into place some measure's this year to see to the welfare of it's members and effective running of the profession to compete favourably with their foreign opponents. This address was sent to the the members and the general public I'm his New Year's message that even though the barbering profession was profitable, many people looked down upon it and discouraged the youth from venturing into it.
“It's due to this nation that the executive wings of the Association are coming out with initiatives this year to train members to become familiar with the modern technicalities of their profession and encourage the youth to adopt interest and further join entrepreneurship programs to help them acquire permanent jobs", he said. He explained further that the entire sixteen (16) regions will benefit from this programme and also hinted that the association has foreign partners in the United States of America and the United Kingdom who are ready to engage in exchange programs with the association to develop their local talents.
With these plans, Mr. Kobia said, the foreigner who travel into the country will soon fall on Ghanaian barber's for equal services. He ended by advising the youth to take advantage of this six months apprenticeship program and he hoped members of the association would cooperate with the executive wings of the Association in their quest to restructure the Association this year and many years to come.
