If you will recall, the New Patriotic Party introduced a flagship program called Nation Builders Corps (NABCO). Some unemployed graduate youths in Ghana were to be migrated into permanent jobs after getting 3 years of work experience. Three years down the line, the scheme is ending this October nobody knows the next plan.
These youths are to return home unemployed after October. However, some of this NABCO personnel, especially those at the Ghana Revenue Authority, will be at the office and see that new people are being recruited. They have worked hard all these years and it appears nobody is concerned about keeping them permanent.
Although the President- HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo promised to migrate them to permanency, that promised has not seen the light yet. Johnnie Hughes took to his show on Media General’s “Newday” and asked the government some deep questions. He questioned the government and further reminded them how unemployment is a national security threat.
Some of these personnel have lost hope because they have nowhere to go after October. When is the permanent work starting and would that include SSNIT for all personnel. Some of the personnel who were watching the program on Facebook live praised Johnnie for the unflinching defence. A move that goes to seek some important answers to their numerous questions.
