The Nation Builders Corp’s (NABCO) trainees three (3) years contract with the Government of Ghana is scheduled to end this in this month (October 2021) per their Engagement letter.
With that in mind many uncertainties of the future of these NABCO personnels lingers in their minds. Some are wondering as to whether they will continue to be at post or not. At the same time, these trainees are still not certain of the government’s decision to maintain them at their current place of work as permanent staffs or not.
In wake of this the president of the NABCO Trainees Association of Ghana (NABTAG) in a post on their Official Facebook page and signed by Akwasi Botchway, the national communication team leader, has come out with an update regarding trainees Status in October 2021 as well as the permanent employment being promised to them by the president of Ghana.
According to the release, concern's to regarding whether or not the month of October is designated as a leave month is subject to managerial directive. In the meantime, trainees are expected to remain at post and follow all subsequent directives from National Secretariat. It is absolutely improper for any trainee to adhere to hearsays without confirming with the appropriate authority.
Issue On Permanent Employment
On the issue of permanent employment, the association said they are much aware of the ongoing exit pathway arrangements, which reaffirm the assurance given by the president, to adopt the requisite measures for trainees’ absorption into permanent streams of work. "As it stands, we do not have any reason to doubt the actuality of the transition to permanent employment".
Appreciation Of NABCO Coordinators
The association also gave an update on the current appreciation status, and highlighted on the need to show appreciation to the coordinators and management staff who are supporting them in their fight for permanent employment. They said mass production of Citation artworks has begun, through the kindness of some beneficiaries who saw the need to voluntarily contribute towards making this meaningful project a success. "The National President of NABTAG, Dennis Katakyie, has, having been moved by the unending flow of love for Coordinators and Management Staff Members, persistently proven the necessity of this exercise on several media platforms" the post said.
