There was joy all over social media as various news platforms broadcast the news concerning the appointment of the new Director General of Inspector of Ghana Police IGP. The new IGP was announced in the mid hours of Today as he is to commence work next month August. This is the news Ghanaians have been waiting for and it has finally drop. Ghanaians lament woefully as a result of Insecurity issues as they see the former IGP to dull even though he did his Best as the IGP in Ghana since 2012 till date.
But one of the main concerns from Ghanaians to the newly appointed IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare is just a simple one. All that Ghanaians needs from him is to do a perfect and a genuine work without any thoughts of influence from external bodies. That is, they must not give him predetermined standards but they allow him to work base on the predetermined protocols associated with the office and not that of Party affiliation.
Ghanaians drops their sentiment base on various issues that occurred over the years as Independent bodies are being influenced secretly by Politicians. These kind of influences turn to halt the good work of the good men who mount those offices and Ghanaians like tag them as not being competent in the long run. This is very sad and it is hard to see government officials intruding into the affairs of the independent bodies in foreign countries.
The current IGP must be aware about the snake 🐍 under grass. He expect him to give us genuine duties and not be influenced by party colours either NPP or NDC. We are much aware that he was appointed by a president who hails from a political Party but when it come to business, Dr George Akuffo Dampare must work genuinely and learn from the good ones who have held the office before.
