Social media has reacted to a picture of a University graduate spotted on the street selling ice cream and meat pie to make ends meat. Nana Agyei Sikapa, his social media name, holds a Higher National Diploma certificate (HND) in Accounting.
According to Nana Agyei, he holds second class lower division in Accounting. He narrated that, he has been selling fanyogo and meat pie after completing his national service.
Nana Agyei's story is one of many graduates out there who are struggling after completing their mandatory national service due to Ghana's high rate of unemployment. Many graduates are forced to do menial works just to keep themselves busy and fend for themselves as well.
Recently, news broke about a political science graduate from the University of Ghana who was spotted working in a washing bay in Accra as a washing bay attendant. It took the intervention and influence of Nana Aba Anamoah to secure a decent job for the university graduate.
