Mr. Abubakari Mubarik, an Ambulance Driver within the Sisala West District and a staff of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) in the Upper West Region has been promoted by the Chief Executive Officer of the NAS, Prof. Ahmed Zakariah.
This comes after his fame spread abroad through his heroic deed that happened last week on the Gwollu-Han highway while transporting a patient to the Wa Regional Hospital for health care while the patient was indisposed and needed to be catered for by health professionals.
The young Emergency Medical Technician Mubarik, took the risk of transporting an internally bleeding patient from Gwollu to the Regional capital, Wa which was reported on August 25, 2021 on the major news portals and most television stations in the country.
On his way to the hospital, the ambulance he was driving developed a problem and though he has less knowledge in automechanics, he got out and amidst rainfall, he fixed the fault and continued his journey and safely arrived and handed the patient to the staff of the Regional Hospital.
This action by the staff prompted authorities to give him the necessary promotion and to also ginger others in his ranks to do their best in saving lives in the areas they find themselves.
The Ghana Ambulance Service has been in existence for years now but was revamped when the incumbent President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo purchased new ultramodern vehicles for all Constituencies in the country and recruited new personnel to provide efficient service for the people in the Constituencies nationwide.
This action has seen a face-lift in the health care sector in recent years.
