A 64 year old man Prince Okyere retired recounts what happened when he was busily selling his goods near the Foso roadside when Asamoah Gyan surprisingly approach him and asked for direction to St Andrews SHS campus, the school he had heard on radio and television.
Per the man's narration, Gyan was in a luxury car with brother Baffour Gyan and when he saw him personally he was highly elated. After some few moments of discussion, Gyan was directed to the Premier campus of St Andrews SHS, the school that topped WASSCE 2020 per WAEC analysis.
The school was established in 2005 by Dr Richard Asiedu, the business mogul, CEO and millionaire along with Rich FM, Rich Multimedia Institute, St Andrews College of Health Care, all under the umbrella of St Andrews Group of Companies.
When Gyan entered the campus, though the CEO was arround but he was made to see the good things he had once seen on Adom TV and looking at the serene atmosphere of the school, it really deserve much attention and recognition.
Gyan was taken to the following;
1. The dormitory
2. Assembly Hall
3. He sat under the summer hut close to a swimming pool
4. Classrooms which is tiled
After he had visited the school, he came back to my place to thank me and marvelously proclaim how nice, serene and resourced the school was and he even thought it was a University but to his utmost surprise, a secondary school.
The school has ultra modern facilities, CCTV cameras, buses, swimming pool, nice buildings etc.
In 2020, according to WAEC statistics, St Andrews SHS topped the WASSCE as the students got 98% average pass mark.
The owner of the school Dr Richard Asiedu has a cluster of schools in the Ashanti, Western North, Central Regions.
St Andrews SHS had won numerous awards for educational excellence.
Mr Prince Okyere was surprised with an envelope from Gyan for the direction he gave him and per Gyans excitement towards such a great school, he was mesmerized.
