It is so captivating, motivating and impressive how a team of Media Personnel, Police Officers, Social Welfare Officers, CID Official and Concerned Residents of Ablekuma Odumasi rescued two maltreated children in a compound surrounded by a host of wild dogs.
One of the children, Akosua, who is just four years old was chained and left to go hungry and die in the middle of a compound, by a very heartless and "mentally challenged" father at Ablekuma Odumasi.
The other 5-year-old child, Ruth Ofosu, also passes through the same ordeal, but fortunately for her, she was not chained on that day.
What is more hearbreaking is that the child has on several occasions been sacked, and put on the read ride, closer to a gutter, for the rains to severely beat her.
The father, according to report, has an intention of Killing the innocent toddler just because she regularly bed-wets. Due to his evils plans against his own children, he has secured the house with highly dangerous dogs so that no one would be able to come to their rescue when they are being maltreated.
When this story was reported by Eugene Osei on Angel FM/TV yesterday (July 26, 2021), the General Manager of Angel Broadcasting Network, Kwadwo Dickson rushed to the required Police Station in the Municipality and filed a report to urgently attend to the situation.
In fact, when the Amasaman Police Command heard the news, they quickly organized their able men and rushed to the scene. The team was led by Chief Superintendent, Christopher Klomegah, Amasaman Police Commander.
When they got there, they realized it was life and death situation looking at how the dogs were fiercely and dangerously pursuing them. They therefore used their intelligent strategies for the dogs to retreat for the environment to be a little safe before they were able to save the two children. Obviously, if not because of the safety boats they were wearing, they would have been devoured by those wild dogs because reports revealed that the dogs were so many. It was really beyond their control, but at long last, they were able to overcome them.
The rescued victims have been registered by the Department of Welfare, and are currently in safe hands.
The suspect is also in the custody of Amasaman Police Command pending further interrogative and investigative processes. Nothing shows that he really has sympathy, empathy or love for his own children.
While we are commending Chief Supt Klomegah for risking his life to save these mistreated and oppressed children, the father must be sent to jail without hesitation.
Meanwhile, the entire team of Angel TV has showered praises on the Police Commander for his responsiveness, fearlessness, sense of love and responsibility and timely intervention of the situation.
This is what we are all hoping for, and expecting from all the Police Officers across the length and breadth of Ghana.
