On Monday March 16, 2020, schools were shut down due the Covid-19 pandemic. For barely two months now, final year students in the Basic and Second circle were reopened to prepare for their final examination.
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Minister for Education has set up a 10 member committee to come out with modalities for the reopening of the pre-tertiary education sector in the country.
On Sunday, August 16, 2020 during the President's Number 15 Covid 19 protocol measures up date, he mentioned that, on Monday August 24, all continuing students in the tertiary education sector will go back to their various campuses to complete the academic work which they couldn't complete online.
In view of the President's directive, the Education Minister inaugurated a committee to come out with measures to make sure the President's directive will work out appropriate.
The Committee is to submit their report to the Minister on Monday September 21, 2020 on its recommendations.
The Committee members comprises of Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, UNICEF, Private Sector Schools and some parents.
