Man steals communion bowl from Catholic Cathedral

A 20-year-old brave criminal, Thomas Ayamga, has been pulled under the steady gaze of a Sunyani Circuit Court for supposedly having the nerves to enter the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Sunyani to take the bowl containing blessed fellowship or Holy communion (wafers) and a vessel (or a standing cup that contains hallowed or fellowship wine). 

Notwithstanding this dispicable act, the blamed is likewise affirmed to have taken a 55-inch and a 65-inch NASCO TVs during his challenging taking binge on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Cathedral situated at Area 4, a suburb of Sunyani. 

Ayamga, an occupant of Old Abesim in the Sunyani Municipality has been hit with unlawful passage in opposition to Section 152 of the Criminal and different Offenses Act, 1960 (Act 129) and taking, as opposed to Section 124 (1) of the Criminal and different Offenses (Act 129) charges. 

The denounced, who showed up under the watchful eye of the court on August 14, 2020, argued not liable and was remanded in police authority to return on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. 

The examiner, Superintendent Joseph Apaloo, told the court, managed by Justice Sylvester Nii Okine, that Ayamga entered the Cathedral about 6.30 am on March 27, 2020 to take the things all esteemed at GH¢5,400.00. 

As per him, when a report was made to the police about the robbery, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) led exhaustive examinations and captured the denounced about 3.20 pm on August 7, 2020. 

Supt. Apaloo said when a pursuit was directed in Ayamga's room, the fellowship bowl with the wafers and other missing things of the Christ the King Cathedral were found. 

He said during cross examination, the blamed couldn't clarify how he stopped by the things. 

"After the vital examinations, the denounced individual was accused of the offenses", he included.
