Time has run out for family and friends of Bishop Angel Daniel Obinim, the Founder and Leader of International God's Way Church, in getting him released from Police cells. Angel Obinim has been in police custody since Tuesday 19 May, 2020. He was granted a GHC100,000.00 bail with three sureties, and one person to be justified, over charges involving publication of false news and forgery of a document; a conduct contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) respectively.
Unfortunately, his bail request according to the wife; Florence Obinim, has never been fruitful, claiming the police are frustrating their attempt. From the look of things, given the time of the day, Angel Obinim's fate is sealed to spending two more nights this weekend at the police cells.
His fierce 'enemy', the Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong had even empathized with his situation. he said that the fate of the self-acclaimed ‘Angel’ breaks his heart, and as such he will consider to use his office to help him released.
“Obinim must now know he does not have any friends; he needs just one person to meet his bail condition and no one is ready to assist him but I’m ready to offer my house to bail him,”
Many has construed this pronouncement by the law maker as a mockery of the situation Obinim finds himself.
