Fortunately, the attack was foiled by the Damongo police after a fierce fire exchange between the robbers and the police.
Confirming the incident on radio, the Damongo Divisional police command briefed the media that the robbers are aged 17, 15 and 20.
By law, they have been processed for the court pending trial. According to an eye witness the three Young men had succeeded robbing some traders of cash.
They were forced to stop after shooting into the tyres of their vehicle.
The man who was able to flee, reported to the Damongo police who quickly dispatched a team to the rescue of the chairman, his officers and the remaining traders.
Fortunately no casualty was recorded as the three robbers face trial
