A certain Fuseini Issah a 49-year-old vulcanizer, has found himself in the grips of law after he was arrested by the Nyankpala police command for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.
His arrest comes after a complaint made by the victim's parents in the wake of her unceasing bitter complains of abdominal pains.
The suspect; Issah Fuseini is said to have allegedly given the underaged victim a GH¢1 note based on which he warned her to keep mute and not disclose the said incident to any soul.
Confirming the sad ordeal to journalists in Tamale, Superintendent Otuo Acheampong who is the Northern Regional Police Crime Officer, revealed that the surprising incident was reported by the very parents of the underaged girl.
He disclosed that on Monday, 22nd June 2020 at ariund 9:00AM the victim stepped out to undertake an errand for her father. The arrested suspect - Mr. Issah Fuseini called her in order that he may send her but 12-year old girl refused.
Supt. Acheampong established that about 10:00AM on the same day, the girls mother also sent her to throw away some refuse.
Mr. Issah Fuseini for a second time called on the little girl where he took the opportunity to lure her into his room where he overpowered the little girl and defiled her.
After which Mr. Fuseini is said to have given her a GH¢1 note and then warned her not to reveal the matter to anybody.
On Friday, 26th June 2020, the defiled victim out of severe pains began complaining of unceasing abdominal pains, her parents who then sought to know what the matter was, ended up finding out the painful ordeal she had encountered with the now arrested suspect.
After she was taken to the police station, the little girl was issued with a police medical form to go to a hospital for a gynaecological examination.
“The report we received show that there was no penetration so we charged the suspect for attempted defilement.”
Supt. Acheampong further established that, the arrested suspect has been processed for court hearing.
