Ghanaians are still dumbfounded because of the demise of the Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman Constituency, Hon. Ekow Hayford. The multiple accounts being given by supposed eyewitnesses is also another confusing turn of events that is making many people lost. Granted that it was a robbery, the nature in which the MP's whereabout was unravelled is also another critical issue which needs urgent attention. Contributing to this unfortunate incident of the MP's death, renowned blogger BigScout has poured out his heart in one of his usual detailed Facebook posts.
The German based blogger penned;
***CONTRACT KILLING OR ROBBERY
Yesterday it was #JBDanquah, today it's the Mfantseman MP, tomorrow it could be you or I, so we all need to be on the look out. This is what happens when people are killed in country and security operatives are not able to bring finality to such brutalities. Sadly when such murders happen we link it to robbery when we sometimes know it even goes beyond that.
They're a million and one questions going on through my mind, the more I keep asking myself these questions, the more I feel this murder goes beyond armed robbery. Since investigations have now started I may not want to make statements that soughts to suggest I'm telling the security operatives what to do but I urge them to look beyond just armed robbery and factor in contract killing.
I'll come back again after the police release their preliminary report on the gruesome murder of this MP.
For now, the Ghana Police Service have placed a whooping Gh¢20,000 bounty on the heads of these unscrupulous persons who committed this heinous crime. Frankly speaking, these nation wreckers should be brought to book because they are simply making the county inhabitable with these hardened criminality routines!
On a more serious note, the security operatives should up their games to ensure a peaceful atmosphere or else the fear and panic in the system may soon escalate which wouldn't augur well for us as a nation.
What's your thought on this?
