Sekondi Takoradi is one of Ghana's most attractive cities, and as the capital of the Western Region, it has experienced a lot of improvement in terms of roads and infrastructure. However, the Centre for National Culture building, which has been left to rot over the years, is one of the important infrastructures in the city that has faced delays in construction.
The Takoradi national culture building, one of the country's many cultural centers, was designed to promote the country's art, culture, and tourism destinations, however it has remained unfinished. The structure is in such bad shape that some pillars are supported by wood beams. In addition, some windows are broken, and the building's white paint rapidly fading. Weeds have swallowed parts of the building, making some parts of the building unsafe to enter.
With all of these shortcomings, one can only speculate if this is one of the factors contributing to the decline of art and culture in the region, as more people relocate to Accra, the regional capital, to promote or showcase their talent in the arts and culture industry.
Sekondi-Takoradi is a place full of people who enjoy art and culture performances all the time, with tourists always coming into the region to find the perfect destinations to enjoy their vacations, so if some of the facilities, such as the centre for national culture building, are completed and made ready, it will boost the region's art and culture activities and attract tourists.
