Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Marks 22 Years on the Golden Stool

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II took over the reigns as the King of Asanteman on a bright Sunday, 26 April, 1999, about eight thousand and thirty-six days (8036) ago. He is the sixteenth King of Asanteman. Today marks the twenty-second (22nd) anniversary of his ascension.

With Coronavirus all around, the Manhyia Palace is unlikely to organise any grand durbar to commemorate his(Nana Osei Tutu II) twenty-second(22nd) anniversary on the Golden Stool, where dignitaries from all over the world pay homage to him.

For most Ghanaians born in the late 1980s through 1990s to the early 2000s, Nana Osei Tutu II is the Asantehene they have seen as the rest been captured in our history books.

Nana Osei Tutu II since taking over, has used his high office to improve the socio-economic situation of many Ghanaians across the length and breadth of Ghana.

He attaches great importance to education, that is why he rewards Teachers who have dedicated themselves to teach in the remote or deprived areas of the country. Many brilliant but needy children have benefited from the benevolence of his Royal Majesty.

He is a peace loving personality which is evident in the countless efforts he made in trying to restore peace in Dagbon Kingdom when there was turmoil in that kingdom in early 2002.
