Top Three(3) Unpopular Museums In Ghana.

Ghana has a rich culture and history. As the world rotates and time flies, our true background diminishes with generations. In search of hope, we built museums to preserve this invaluable heritage while they also give us employment, amusement, and revenue. Ghana has several museums; some are so popular while others are not even known to exist. Here are three underrated museums in the country.

1. Yaa Asantewaa Museum.

The site behaves as the name it holds: After it was destroyed in 2004, the museum has been reconstructed and it's quite a tourist's flavour. It was built to honour the famous queen mother of Ejisu, Yaa Asantewaa; It is in Ejisu, Atwima Mponua District. There is more to the story of our Ashanti heroine. If you want to know, you know where to be.

2. Upper East Regional Museum.

Established in 1972, the museum was set up by the Ghana National Commission on Culture. It can be found in Bolgatanga. The primary aim is to preserve the material culture of the region and to educate the people on the need to remember their heritage. One can go there to see paintings, pottery, local musical instruments, weaponry, bronze ancestral vases, Chief's possessions, carved darkwood stools, and many other interesting cultural exhibits. If you happen to pass by or plan a cultural tour, it is a place you will not regret visiting.

3. Volta Regional Museum.

As its name suggests, the museum can be located on the land of Ho, the capital of Volta Region. Before the place was used for this purpose in 1973, it originally served as the Office of Regional House of Chiefs. One can learn more about the history and traditions of Voltarians on a single visit. Exhibits on display include Kente designs, local paintings, the Chair of State of the last German colonial governor, woodcraft and pottery. The site is always opened for exploration; You just need to be there.
