History Of Ankaful Maximum Security Prison;Is Akuapem Polo 'Likely' To Be Taken To After Covid Test?

The social media diva and Ghanaian actress Rosemond Alade Brown alias Akuapem Polo was sentenced last Friday to 90 days imprisonment for committing offenses which was against the laws of the country. Her publication of nude photos online with her seven years old son constituted a breach of domestic laws.

She was accused with three charges of publication of obscene materials, domestic violence and engaging in domestic violence. The circuit court presided over by her honor Mrs. Christiana Can read the judgement and indicated its punishment will run concurrently for all three charges.

Her lawyer Andrews Vortia in an interview indicated that his client will be taken to Ankaful Maximum prison if the expected covid results proves negative. He added that the results will be available on Monday.

The Prison facility is one of the latest Prison established in Ghana. It is located at Cape Coast in the central region. It is believed to be the prison with the most security facilities earning the title maximum security prison in Ghana.

On the 8th of November 2011, it was commissioned by the then president John Evans Atta mills after the first phase was completed. The prison facility was built to confine law breakers and it admits certain category of prisoners.

The other Prisons which make up the complex includes the contagious Disease Prison, main camp prison and the Ankaful Annex Prison. According to Akuapem Polo's lawyer she is likely to be taken to this facility if the test comes out as negative.
