Our culture; check out the Menhyia Palace, the Palace of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Menhyia Palace is the seat of the Ashantehene. The palace, which also serves as the official residence of arguably the most powerful Chief in the country is located at the heart of the Garden City, Kumasi. Historically, the palace was built by the British in 1874, after they ( the British) destroyed the original palace built by the Ashantes. However, the one built by the British is now turned into a museum. During the reign of Otumfour Opoku Ware II, he built a different edifice pretty close to the old. Ashantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II currently uses the new place built as his palace and residence.

The Menhyia Palace is a huge edifice that hosts several important activities for the people of the Ashante Region. During the Adae Festival, the spacious courtyard is used by the Ashantehene to engage chiefs that pay homage to him. Check out the glamour and beauty of the Menhyia Palace of the Ashantehene.
