The Angolan civil war was the longest war in the history of Africa that started in 1975 to 2002. In every colonized country, there is jubilation and merrymaking after the struggles to obtain independence from colonial masters. But that wasn't the case in Angola. The war begun immediately after getting independence from their Portuguese masters in November 1975.

The war lasted for a good 27 years and at the end an estimated number of 500, 000 people were killed and millions were left homeless. Many people also traveled to nearby countries to seek refuge.
