#MCW: Did you know Idi Amin Once Wrote A Love Letter To The Queen Of England? [COMIC HISTORY]

Iddi Amin Dada was a prominent Ugandan leader who went down the books of history as one of the most severe dictators ever.

experienced in the history of the entire world. He was ahead of the Ugandan army and spearheaded an uprising that destabilized the government under Milton Obote who was then

overthrown from power. Amin afterward was the beneficiary of all this and made himself president of Uganda.

He married a wife whom he had snatched from a university student and murdered the student taking the lady and wedding her as his wife. On the eve of his wedding, held at the Serena hotel in Uganda, Amin exchanged vows and went to Britain for the honeymoon

where he met with Queen Elizabeth. On coming back, Amin wrote a love letter and gave a direct message to the queen whose

contents would practically make you laugh your head off. Characterized with a series of grammatical errors and lame sentences, so typical of the dictator himself.

Quite frankly, if there is going to be an African leader who would never be forgotten by the entire world it certainly has to be Idi Amin Dada of Uganda.

He was certainly and beyond and reasonable doubt a rather ruthless leader characterized with violence in his dealings but I was particularly touched by Amin's letters to the Queen and is the focus of this article.

Amin's letter begun with him saluting the queen, saying and I quote " My majesty Mr. Queen Sir, horrible ministers as well as members of parliament, invented Guests,

ladies under gentlemen. I hereby thank you completely, Mr. Queen, sir; and also what he has done for me and my fellow Uganda who come with me. . . "

You can already spot the humor in his opening statement down, Amin a natural sense of humor, his letter went on saying, and I quote " . . . we have eaten very much. And we are fed up

fully, And so many thanks to you keenly open up from all windows, so that those sweet climates can come into lunch. But before I go back to my country with a plane from the

Entebbe airport of London I wish to invitation you Mr. Queen, to become home to Uganda so that we can also revenge on you. . . "

That is just but a section of his love letter to where Iddi Amin had an entire mental breakdown in writing trying to woo the Queen's heart.
