Tilapia Drops New Cartoon Of Ursula Owusu Searching For Defaulters Of Quikloan – Ghanaians React

Over the weekend the much anticipated presser on SIM registrations came off. The Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful had stated that sims cards that had not been linked to the numbers will be blocked. This created so much brouhaha because many feared that their numbers will be locked. Others jubilated because they were owing their network providers.

According to Ursula, the new deadline will be September 30 but interestingly added that all SIM users who fail to register by August ending will not be able to use some services. The minister also mentioned of a self app will be launched on Tuesday to help in the registration. This self-registration will however come at a cost of 5 cedis.

Well, today, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 is the date the minister talked of the launch of the app to help in the registration and Ghanaians are anxiously waiting. As Ghanaians wait to register, others are also waiting for the new deadline to elapse so they forfeit the payment of debts they owe their Telcos.

It is interesting to know that before the previous deadline, many Ghanaians had expressed this opinion on social media. There had been calls on the Minister to do the needful. The Minister however dashed their hopes with a new deadline saying that all who tried to escape from paying their debts before the new deadline will be found out.

Tilapia, a cartoonist with TV3 has illustrated this development with a photo of Ursula-Owusu Ekuful the minister heading to town with a phone that has an enabled Ghana Post Service installed on it. The photo shows the minster searching for all defaulters or those owing debts. Interestingly, Ghana's debts sit at the back with no one to pursue those on corruption charges.

It will be interesting to see if Ghanaians will patronize the new app set to be launched today or they will forfeit to lose their cards just to run from paying their loans borrowed from the Telcos.
