Whatsapp is to release an update that will enable users to pause and resume voice recording. According to Wabetainfo, this update will reduce the pressure on users to say everything they have to say in the right order in just one recording. Personally this is a great win for me because I have also been dealing with that issue for a very long time.
It great to see that Whatsapp listens to the cries of its clients and heeds to their needs. For now, WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2201.2 is marked as compatible update according to Webainfo. Other compatible versions will be made known in the future.
As you can see in this screenshot, there is a new pause button (in the previous version, there was a stop icon) that allows you to pause the voice note. In this situation, you can listen to the voice note before sending it, you can delete the voice note or you can resume the recording!
This feature is already available on WhatsApp for iOS and we’re waiting for the availability on WhatsApp beta for Android.
I think this is a great move by WhatsApp and a step in the right direction as this update will greatly increase the level of comfortability when conversing with the app. It will also reduce the pressure a user is bombarded with when recording a voice note.
