On Monday, 4th October 2021, social media channels owned by Mark Zuckerberg went down for close to 6 hours. This action affected some whereby some deleted the various applications from their devices only to download them again and find out that the problem still existed. Users of the various platforms were not the only affected ones but according to Bloomberg Wealth, Zuckerberg himself lost a whopping amount of 6 billion dollars as a result of the shutdown. On Wednesday, 6th October 2021, a message that the various social media platforms(Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) that shut down on Monday will be shutting down for about a week starting from 6th October 2021 to 13th October 2021 was seen in circulation.
This message happens to be purported to be from the Facebook owner's Facebook account but intense scrutiny reveals that it is a photoshopped "thing" and Zuckerberg never placed such information on his Facebook page thereby rendering the shutdown message not true and that Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram and Messenger won't be shutting down anytime soon. We urge all to desist from spreading such untrue information.
