Ghana has been ranked the African country with the highest internet speeds.
Ghana was ranked 79th in the world, with the fastest internet speed in Africa at 53.28 megabits per second.
With speeds of 47.32 mbps and 42.42 mbps, South Africa was ranked 85th in the world and 2nd in Africa, while Egypt was ranked 91st in the world and 3rd in Africa.
The global internet speed is monitored by the Speedtest Global Index, which looks at around 180 nations' internet speeds.
Ghana is undergoing a large digitization campaign, and its internet access, which is among the fastest in Africa, should help the government's digitization program significantly.
