Reactions As Ghanaians To Boycott Mobile Phone Networks In February

Some group of people have released a press statement informing the public that the entire country will boycott phone calls in February this year due to Sim card re-registration ongoing in the country by telecommunications networks across the country. The group that dropped the press statement name include IMANI Ghana president, Franklin Cudjoe and vice Kofi Bentil and other prominent people in the country.

People reacting to the news stated that they welcomed the idea wholeheartedly and stated that is now time for us as Ghanaians to let the network operators know that they can't continue to take them for granted. They said they are now ready to also push the telecommunication networks back as customers and said If they think that they only benefit from them then they should stop and rethink again. "Thanks for spearheading this laudable initiative 👏 🙏 🙌 👍 👌 ❤" someone said to congratulate leaders who take this action.

Some people thought that this is a good call but are majority of Ghanaians developed and well informed to do this considering the fact that majority of them are illiterates?

"For me this won't be effective because how many people make calls? Some people can stay for a week without a call but can't stay a minute without a data bundle. Most people and companies use "data Bundle" than calls. Let's make it Data Bundles that's where much money is used" another Ghanaian suggested.

"I am in this. I can't see myself queuing to re-register my existing sim cards. Must the ordinary Ghanaian be made to queue for every national assignment?" Another Ghanaian questioned.

"Those names there are not businessmen, they lose nothing at all for this action. They will sneak to call themselves, and you will hear them on radio interviews that day, they can never be trusted" another Ghanaian stated.

Ghanaians made this reactions known when Manasseh Azure Awuni revealed the news to them on his social media wall today, Thursday, 13th January, 2022.
