The New Patriotic Party is trying every possible means to to make Ghana a digital country by introducing the unique addresses.
As a reminder, The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday 13th April, 2021 had inspected work on the ongoing installation of unique addresses on all 7.5 million properties across the country.
He said that the new addressing system, which leverages on the existing GhanaPost GPS system, is made up of a unique house number, street name, digital address and a QR Code containing the ownership and other details of the property.
Dr. Bawumia who is in charge of making it possible has given Ghanaians the short code to help them check whether the car one is boarding is licensed, insured and road wealthy or not.
According to him, one can dial *920*57# anytime he or she boards a car and want to know the above mentioned particulars of the car.
The vice president speaking said, most vehicles on our roads are not officially registered, unlicensed, and without road wealthy, hence finding it difficult to get them them when an incidents happens and this has come to put a total stop to that for the benefits of ordinary passengers.
