As announced by the National Communications Authority (NCA) and the Ministry of Communication for all Ghanaians to re-register their SIM Cards starting from October 1st 2021, some Ghanaians don't know how to do so.
The decision is to link Ghana Card details of Ghanaians to that of their SIM cards and to reduce fraud in the telecommunication sector.
Beginning October 1st, all subscribers in Ghana are expected to re-register their SIM cards.
Before one can do the re-registeration of SIM card, you must first of all link your SIM card to your Ghana via USSD.
Below are the steps on how to register your SIM card after linking it to your Ghana card.
Step 1: Dial *404#
Step 2: Enter Ghana Card pin ( enter letters and figures without hyphens).
Step 3: confirm Ghana Card pin
Step 4: enter sur name
Step 5: enter first name
Step 6 : enter Date of birth ( format should be DMY)
Step 7: select sex
Step 8: confirm details
Step 9: submit details provided after confirmation.
According to the National Communications Authority, all new and existing subscribers must link their Ghana Card to their SIM card.
