Social media can either have positive or negative effect in a country. Ghana is looking forward to improving when it comes to the world of technology. But it looks like it becoming headache and risky to the country’s future as far as the citizens are concerned. The rise of fake news today is now another topic that needs to be discussed. Though social media has many positive effects on a country, but it looks like the negative has now overcome all the positives which is causing backwards. It is now time to take further actions against the negative uses of social media in Ghana.
Many marriage divorces we see today has increased due to social media and this will continue to increase until we come into realization. Unnecessary criticisms of government policies has increased in recent times due to social media. Leadership in every country will either be poor or successful. The negative use of social media has now made it poor even though it’s better. Children are now addicted to social media and dedicates much of their time having unnecessary chat with friends instead of paying much attention to their books. This reduces the academic performance of our wards. Let us all be careful with social media for time lost in a day can never be restored.
