Which Phone Do You Use: Check The Number Of Ghanaians Using Your Phone Type

Have you ever imagined the number of Ghanaians that may be using a particular phone. It may surprise you to know that the brand of phone you use is probably not what majority of Ghanaians prefer.

According to a research, 99 percent of internet users in Ghana aged 16 to 64 years owned a mobile phone of any type. In the same survey, 98.7 percent had smartphones, while another 5.7 percent owned non-smartphone mobile phones.

But out of this percentage, the following are the various percentages into the different brands of smartphones.

Samsung (22.28%)

Samsung, South Korean company that is one of the world's largest producers of electronic devices. It has become one of the most-recognizable names in technology and produces about a fifth of South Korea's total exports. 22% of Ghanaian smartphone users prefer Samsung phones to other brands of phones.


Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company that specializes in consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. Apple is the world's largest technology company by revenue and, since January 2021, the world's most valuable company. Though their products are used by many people across the globe, only 20.32% of Ghanaians use apple phones.


Tecno Mobile is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China. It was established in 2006. It is a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings. Tecno has focused its business on the African and the South Asian markets. Meanwhile, 18.61% prefer Tecno phones


Infinix Mobile is a Hong Kong-based smartphone company founded in 2013 by Sagem Wireless and Transsion Holdings. The company has research and development centres sprawling between France and Korea and designs its phones in France. 14.01% of Ghanaians prefer to use Infinix phones

Huawei (5.91%)

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. is a Chinese multinational technology company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It designs, develops, and sells telecommunications equipment and consumer electronics. The company was founded in 1987. Only 5.91% of Ghanaian phone users use their brand.

Itel (5.61%)

Itel Mobile is a China based mobile phone manufacturer company headquartered in Shenzhen, China. Its products are mainly sold in Zimbabwe and some parts of Africa, South Asia, Europe and Latin America. The firm was founded by Lei Weiguo and Shenzhen Transsion Holdings Co Limited in March
