Duncan Amoah, the Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers says the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) should go back to what it was set up for.
Speaking on Joynews' PM Express Business Edition, news, Mr Amoah stated that BOST has deviated from it's purpose for which it was established on 1993.
According to him, the reason for BOST's establishment was to serve as a buffer by storing crude oil which in difficult times will augment the little we have and not not to trade and make profits.
He specifically said, "but go back to what you were set up for in 1993 when we decided as a country to have a buffer. That buffer was not meant to be there for profit, it was meant to be there to cushion everybody in difficult or times of distress as we find ourselves,”
Explaining further, the Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers said we are at where we are today with fuel issues because of BOST. They have deviated from the objective and have therefore failed to plan.
