The current administration promised the good people of Ghana a lot of policies which would be implemented when they are given the mandate to govern the country. Notable amongst these policies was the One District One Factory (1D1F) programme. The initiative is aimed at providing at least one industrial enterprise across all the districts in the country. You would bear with me that industrialization is very important towards the development of a country.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made it a point to visit some factories in the North East Region which are under construction during his two day tour of the North East Region. The president together with the Minster of Trade and Industry, Hon. Alan Kyerematen visited two factories in the North East Region.

The Trade Minister led the president in the inspection of a Watermelon Juice Factory which is still under construction in Walewale. This factory is worth about GH¢ 36 million. The president also inspected an ongoing construction of a Rice Processing Factory in Nasia at Nalerigu.

These two factories add up to the already existing seventy-seven (77) factories operating under the 1D1F initiative, according to the ministry.

These factories when completed, would provide quite a number of jobs for the people in the region and afar and this would go and long way to support the development of the region.

There is still more to be done by the government in the fulfilment of the promise. Let's hope it does just that.
