Know the facts about GRNMA


Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) is the mouthpiece of nurses and midwives in Ghana

GRNMA holds the bargaining certificate recognized by the ministry and labour union. 

This explains why GRNMA was the only union invited to bargain the Condition of Service for all nurses and midwives. 

Members are deducted monthly from their salaries as follows:

1. GRNMA dues: 2% of our basic salary 

2. Building levy: 20 cedis from each member 

3. GRNMA Nurses Fund: 50 cedis. 

Now, let's focus on the Nurses Fund for today. The other two shall be dealt with later. 

A BRIEF HISTORY OF GRNMA FUND: Agreement was reached in 2005 at conference in Wa.Deductions took effect in January 2006. Ghc 2.50 was deducted per month. Reviewed deduction took place in Wa, 2013.

The GRNMA fund deductions was increased to Ghc 20.00 per month. This took effect in January 2014.

The recent increment was agreed in Cape Coast in 2017.

In January 2018, the Ghc 50.00 monthly deduction took effect. 

NOTE: The Ghc 50.00 monthly fund deduction is calculated or summed up and paid to a member with an interest when he/she retired or resigned. The AXIS PENSION is the administrator of the fund.
