I Am Just Scared: Samson Lardy Anyenini Reacts To The Current Depreciation Of The Cedi And Downgrade

The current administration is now having a fair experience of how the erstwhile Mahama administration was bastardized by the Ghanaian media. The experienced and veteran journalist, Samson Lardy Anyenini, who also doubles as a private legal practitioner has broken his silence on the current economic downgrade and persistent depreciation of the cedi due to the unstable exchange rates.

Lawyer Samson Lardy recounted how one of his panelists made a serious doomsday prediction about the economy of Ghana. The panelist predicted that it would get to a time when the Ghanaians cedi will be useless like with the case of the Zimbabwe currency where the situation has worsened such that transactions are done and accepted in Zimbabwean dollars. This could actually be the case when the rate of inflation gallops to the extent that the Ghanaian populace loses faith in the Ghanaian cedi and to the extent that they will return to the barter trade system.

Samson Lardy recounted that he got very angry with that panelist because the panelist refused to listen to Samson Lardy but rather went on insisting that Ghana will soon land in that case. He went ahead to tell Ghanaians that he does not remember who that person was. According to Samson Lardy, what matters the most is that he has the faith and strongest conviction that Ghana will not get there.

Samson Lardy later revealed that he has had some encounter with some two investors who are also investors and he is very scared by the revelations they are making.

"I think I actually got angry with the guy for refusing to listen to me and rather repeating his assertion that we could get into that Zimbabwe situation. Trying to recall who it is and which episode of Newsfile this happened and I still have faith we will not get there. Dealt with two foreigners this week and their reality is scary."
